1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Plain Explain ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Plain Explain provides contract and lease analysis to help you understand key terms, red flags, and obligations. The Service is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. You should consult a qualified attorney for legal decisions.

3. Your Content and Temporary Storage

When you upload documents (e.g. PDFs) to the Service, those files are temporarily stored for processing only. We use your uploaded content solely to generate your analysis. Files are retained only as long as necessary to complete processing and deliver your results, after which they are deleted in accordance with our data retention practices. We do not use your documents for any purpose other than providing the analysis you requested.

4. Use of AI (OpenAI)

Our analysis is powered by AI models provided by OpenAI. We use these models via API to process your contract text and generate summaries, red-flag detection, and plain-language explanations. We do not allow OpenAI (or any third party) to train on your contracts or use your content for model training. Our use of the OpenAI API is configured so that your data is not used to improve or train OpenAI's models. Your contract content is used only to fulfill your request and is not retained by us or our providers for training purposes.

5. Account and Payment

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under your account. Payment terms are as displayed at the time of purchase (e.g. per-scan pricing). Refunds are subject to our refund policy as stated on the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service for any illegal purpose, to infringe others' rights, or to upload content you do not have the right to share. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse.

7. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." WE DO NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE. RESULTS ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL USE ONLY. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plain Explain and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

10. Contact

For questions about these Terms, please contact us through the contact information provided on our website or in the Service.
